Not Much To Be Proud Of

The legacy of Joe Arpaio will not be one of accomplishment. It will not be a legacy of improved protection for the citizens of Maricopa County. It will not be a legacy of improved cooperation among law enforcement agencies. And it will not be a legacy of competent fiscal management.

Rather Joe Arpaio's will be a legacy of unnecessary death in his jails, wasting of taxpayer dollars on lawsuit settlements and questionable expenditures; ignoring and excusing unimaginable civil rights abuses, low pay for deputies and detention officer; response times that are three times the county standard; alienation of the MCSO to other law enforcement agencies; and a Board of Supervisors and County Attorney who enable him to get away with it.
