09.17.08 U.S. Citizen: MCSO traffic stop was prompted by Canadian flag sticker
A new U.S. citizen claims she was racially profiled by an MCSO deputy just because she had a Canadian flag sticker on the front of her automobile. She says the Deputy asked only for her Green Card and never asked for her drivers license, proof of insurance, or even explained to her the reason for stopping her. [read more]
08.29.08 Another Community Ignored by Arpaio
The list of communities being ignored by Joe Arpaio keeps getting longer and longer. Citizens from Aguila, El Mirage, Guadalupe and now Tonopah have all reported their calls for police protection are being ignored or given low priority by the MCSO. How many more towns must be ignored before voters get the hint Arpaio doesn't care?
08.01.2008 Arpaio arrests food-cart vendors while GITEM arrests gang leaders and members.
On the same day Joe Arpaio swept up 20 food-vendors, the GITEM Task Force (of which the MCSO is NOT a member) announced they had arrested 130 gang members, clearing 65 felony arrest warrants, including ones for armed robbery, aggravated assault, and drug sales. [read more]
07.23.08 KPNX-TV12 reports the actual costs of Arpaio's Honduras trips far exceeds his estimates
The total cost of Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Honduras operation significantly contradicts claims made by the sheriff earlier this year. Instead of the $34,061 figure reported by Arpaio to the Board of Supervisors, the total now is above $283,000. [read more]

A store owner in a town where the MCSO is the only law enforcement agency complains about waiting 45 minutes for a deputy to arrive after the store's panic button was pressed during an armed robbery. She also describes how her business is down 40% since Arpaio's "sweep."
